How we meet

Where, when and in which language.

  • In the office

A quiet room in Albuquerque, a short walk from Old Town.

  • By video

From home, or anywhere private in New Mexico. You need to be in the state during the session.

  • In English or Spanish

Angelina sees clients in both languages. Orlando sees clients in English.

  • When we meet

    Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

What your family expects, and what therapy asks of you

How it works, from the first message to the third week

Nothing is asked of you that you have not agreed to.

  • You write or call

We answer within one business day, by the method and at the time you choose.

  • A short call about fit

Fifteen minutes about languages, times and who you would like to see. It is not therapy, an evaluation or an assessment.

  • The first session

You decide what to tell us. We explain how we work and where confidentiality ends.

  • You set the pace

Weekly or every other week to start. You can change the pace, change clinician or stop.

How fees work

Plain answers about insurance, paying and estimates, before you decide anything.

  • Insurance we work with

Reverie is out of network with insurance plans: you pay for each session yourself, and we do not bill your plan. We do not take Medicare or Medicaid. If you want a clinician who bills your plan, we will gladly give you the names of colleagues.

    • Out of network with insurance plans

    • No Medicare or Medicaid

  • If you pay yourself

Your fee is set by the clinician you see and the length of the session (50 minutes, or 80 for couples), and it is given to you in writing before you start. You pay at the end of each session by card, HSA and FSA cards included. A limited number of reduced-fee spots are open; ask how to request one. We ask for 24 hours' notice to change or cancel a session.

  • Receipts for reimbursement

Each month we give you an itemized receipt (a superbill) with the dates and kind of session, to send to your plan, which may reimburse part of out-of-network care. It carries a diagnosis code your insurer can see. Your plan decides whether it pays anything, so ask it before you start.

  • An estimate in advance

If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a written Good Faith Estimate of what your care will cost before you start. We give you one before the first session. If the final bill is $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.

  • Checking your benefits

Because we do not bill your plan, we do not check your benefits. To find out whether your plan reimburses out-of-network care, call it before the first session and ask about out-of-network mental health benefits. We give you whatever paperwork it asks for.

What nearly everyone asks

What happens in the first session?

You and your clinician talk. You decide what to share. We explain how we work, how confidentiality works and where it ends, and we agree on how often to meet. Nobody asks for your history in the first hour unless you want to give it.

Which clinician speaks Spanish?

Angelina sees clients in Spanish and in English. Orlando sees clients in English. Tell us which you prefer when you write and we will match you.

Do I have to bring my family?

No. Most of our clients come alone or as a couple. If you want a family member to join one session, we talk about it first and you decide.

Do you take my insurance?

We are out of network with insurance plans, so you pay for each session yourself. We give you a monthly receipt (a superbill) to send to your plan, which may reimburse part of the cost; your plan decides what it pays. We do not take Medicare or Medicaid.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a written estimate of what your care will cost before you start. If the final bill is $400 or more above it, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.

What is private, and what are the limits?

What you say stays between you and your clinician. The limits, which we explain in writing before the first session, are a risk of serious harm to you or someone else, abuse or neglect of a child or of an adult who cannot protect themselves, and a court order.
